I used a large orange paint pen, as well as a small tipped gold pen.  All the design was applied freehand.  If you need a little confidence before using paint pens, you can always sketch lightly with a pencil first.  Or if you have a fine piece of chalk,  you can just paint right over it and the excess will wipe right off.

My husband asked me why I bought a black suitcase, as he thought it would look like everyone elses!  Well I had something else in mind!

  • WHAT YOU WILL NEED..... A pencil, fine tipped felt pen, and a medium tipped black Sharpy.
  • I sketched the design lightly with a graphite pencil, then traced the lines with a fine tipped felt pen.  I bought this one at an art supply store.
  • I then filled in the outline with a medium tipped  black Sharpy.  I added the white dots with a white paint pen.  And Wha La!!!!

YOU WILL NEED - Acrylic artists paints (White, Yellow Ochre, Raw Umber and Black (optional), Filbert (round tipped) brushes, water and an extender medium. (blue, white and red for the sky.   You can buy these all at a good art supply store.
  • I chose to paint a mid day sky which is quite an intense blue, by mixing ultramarine blue, white and a very little touch of red.

We have collected sea shells over the years.  They used to sit in a big box by the fish tank.  Here is what I came up with to display them.
Maybe you have a collection.  This may give you an idea on how to display it.
  • First I layered beach sand on the bottom of a clear jar I bought at a discount store.
